Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in integrating Rectron’s DJI drone technology into the South African agricultural sector, with a specific focus on the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, and a passion for innovative agricultural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities for DJI drones in South African agriculture.
- Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.
Business Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on expanding the use of DJI drones in agriculture.
- Identify and prioritize target markets and customer segments.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and government agencies.
- Conduct regular meetings with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Drive sales growth by promoting DJI drone solutions to the agricultural sector.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets.
Representation & Promotion:
- Represent the company at trade expos, industry events, and live demonstrations.
- Organize and participate in promotional activities to showcase DJI drone technology and its benefits for agriculture.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
- Coordinate with DJI’s global team to stay updated on the latest drone technologies and applications.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to clients on the use of DJI drones for agricultural purposes.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate clients on best practices.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market feedback.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Matric
- University degree with either a business or information technology background advantageous.
Experience:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably in the agricultural or technology sector.
- Experience with drone technology and its applications in agriculture is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and its challenges.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
