Job Description:
As the Registered Manager, you will be pivotal in establishing and running the home to ensure the highest standards of care and support. You will lead and inspire a team of care professionals, creating a nurturing environment for the children.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Provide strong leadership to the care team, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and children.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and best practices.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on each childs emotional, behavioural, and educational development.
- Manage the homes budget and resources efficiently.
Safeguarding & Compliance:
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all children, adhering to safeguarding policies at all times.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, preparing for inspections and audits.
Staff Development & Training:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team, providing ongoing support and supervision.
- Conduct regular staff appraisals and create development plans to enhance skills and knowledge.
Child-Centred Care:
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes emotional and psychological well-being.
- Collaborate with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers for holistic care.
- Engage with families to maintain positive relationships and involve them in the care process.
Crisis Management:
- Handle emergencies and implement risk assessments and behaviour management plans.
Essential Criteria:
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a childrens home, preferably with a focus on EBD.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and relevant childcare legislation.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Valid DBS check on the update service.
Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to inspire a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with children and families.
- High organizational skills with a methodical approach to planning and problem-solving.
