Our client, a well-known private school in Johannesburg West is looking to appoint a Principal to lead their Preparatory School. We are looking for an influential leader to lead and guide this school.

Qualifications required:

Complete degree in Education
MBA or business degree would be advantageous
SACE registration

Skills and experience required:

IEB experience would be advantageous
Applicants must have a successful background at a Principal level
Strong people management and leadership experience is required
We are looking for a candidate with strong business acumen who is able to consider the business aspects of this school

Job description:

Report to the Executive Head
Lead the Preparatory School Teachers, Learners and other support staff
Encourage, support and develop staff
Achieve academic strategy and targets
Analyse and respond to all academic and school issues
Oversee the academic policies and procedures for all staff and ensure continuous improvement of these policies and procedures
Develop and maintain the school vision
Responsible for the wellbeing, health and safety of students, staff, parents and visitors while at the school
Develop strategies for growth of the school
Prepare and maintain budgets
Prepare reports for shareholders
Maintain customer service to ensure customer retention
Oversee full finance management function for the school
Manage cashflow and expenditure
Reporting on profit and loss
Recruitment and selection of academic staff
Host parent meetings
Maintain an excellent reputation for the brand and manage marketing activities
Maintain world class facilities and stay up to date with advancements in the education space.
