CSR Manager

Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the implementation of Growthpoint’s CSI initiatives and transformation strategy.
Role Location
Growthpoint Head Office in Sandton. The Company will accommodate some flexibility in this regard.
Reporting Manager
The CSR Manager reports to the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Direct Subordinates
The position currently has the following direct report:
a) CSR Specialist
Budget Responsibility
- Prepare and manage CSR budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Social Investment (CSI)
- Responsible for the development and communication of corporate-wide social responsibility policies and strategy.
- Review and respond to all funding proposals from Section 21 companies and recommend projects to the head of CSR.
- Manage data collection and develop content for quarterly and bi-annual reporting including social performance highlights, case studies, and graphs.
- Liaise with the marketing and communications department regarding all promotional material related to CSI activities for publication in the internal newsletter and external publications.
- Conduct site visits to potential projects to build relationships.
- Manage existing initiatives and relationships.
- Develop and implement systems and processes for improved impact measurement and reporting.
- Put in place metrics to monitor the progress/social return on our funding.
- Explore opportunities to link programmes to our other projects and communities that we operate in.
- Maintain research databases by analysing, documenting, and communicating assessment results to necessary parties.
- Manage the staff engagement initiatives for the company.
- Manage new and existing stakeholder relationships as it relates to CSR.
Transformation
- Assist with the development and implementation of the transformation strategy.
- Assist in driving the process of B-BBEE transformation.
- Manage the internal communication of the BEE scorecard.
- Oversee BEE accreditation process and audit.
- Provide a review and analysis for quarterly management packs on the transformation status.
Sustainability and Investor Disclosure Reporting
- Support the reviewing of information needed for sustainability disclosure as it relates to CSR.
- Liaise with the marketing and communications department to ensure the website is updated with the latest CSR information.
- Cross-functional collation of CSR information for input into the Annual Integrated Report and ensure information is disclosed correctly.
Admin and Reporting
- Prepare and monitor the CSI management accounts by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Deliver all reporting requirements to the Head of CSR (for SET, EXCO, and Board).
Experience
- 5 years’ experience in a CSI/CSR environment.
- Working knowledge in implementing transformation strategies.
- Appropriate people management experience is essential.
Qualifications
- Social Science Degree or a relevant bachelor’s degree.
