Job Specification: Lead Planner
Location: Kingston Office, Surrey
Contract Type: 12-month contract, Outside IR35
Working Arrangement: 3 days in the office (non-negotiable)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a high-caliber Lead Planner to join our Kingston Office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing a planning and progress control system to support project management and ensure compliance with contractual dates and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage an effective planning and progress control system to support the Project Manager's decision-making.
- Monitor deviations from the project plan, analyse impacts, and oversee corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of schedule awareness among all project participants.
- Develop and verify the Project Schedule according to contractual requirements and internal standards.
- Implement Planning and Progress Control Systems compliant with internal and contractual standards.
- Interface with Discipline Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers to coordinate activities, assign milestones, and identify project constraints.
- Prepare and communicate all reference baseline documents clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Timely issuance of all relevant reporting and perform critical path analysis.
- Create and issue Planning & Scheduling Procedures and Progress Measurement Procedures.
- Conduct schedule risk analyses and participate in risk management activities.
- Monitor progress measurement systems and ensure proper information flow throughout the Project Lifecycle (EPCI).
- Update Project Schedules, assess deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records for significant events, including contractual claims and deliverables.
- Create and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly, and monthly schedules; identify and address adverse trends.
- Issue weekly and monthly project reports to internal teams and clients.
- Assist in the preparation of the Project Status Report and participate in coordination meetings.
- Support the Project during contract amendments and claims with time impact analyses.
- Assist in preparing the Project Close-Out Report and productivity feedback data.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified, preferably in Engineering.
- Proven experience in a similar role, particularly within Oil and Gas projects.
- Strong background in EPCI projects, with an emphasis on offshore vessel planning.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
