We are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to work on the HS2 Project. The Design Manager is responsible for discharging the duties for construction support under the scope of the Main Works Civil Contract and is Estimated timeframe of the position is through December 2026.Key Accountabilities:Establishing a team to deliver the services which will consist of site-based representatives as well as office based supportSite support consists of;Responding to TQ’s / RFI’s / EWN’sReviewing of Temporary Works designs for integration with the permanent works designReviewing and acceptance of permanent works materialsReviewing of fabrication details for integration with the permanent worksProducing as-built records and detailsContributing to Quarterly Reports and participating in Quarterly Reviews with end clientProviding safety leadership within the organisationMonitoring and supporting the Site Support Team to ensure that end client are receiving the contracted-for servicesMaintaining consistency across all teamsLiaising with the Construction Services Manager the resource requirements to align with construction activitiesMeeting budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectationsPromoting and marketing all facets of the services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan, and building networks within the industryKey AccountabilitiesThe Design Manager, Site Support, Construction Services is responsible for:Supervising and leadership of the above-mentioned staffResponding to inquiries of the contractor, e.g., TQ’s, RFI’s, etc.Reviewing of Temporary Works designsReviewing and approving construction materialReviewing of fabrication details, shop drawingsReporting of results, preparing reportsProducing As-built DrawingsContributing to the Quarterly Reports as required by the Contract ScopeProviding safety leadership for the teamsMonitoring that all Site-based staff and Site visitors have been trained and inducted prior to working or visiting on the sitesKnowledge & Experience: BSc/BEng or MSc/Meng10 years experience including the development and implementation of solutions, preferably on rail projects.Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writingLeadership and team-building skillsPeople management and motivation experienceCoaching and supportingDecision-making and providing clear directionAbility to influence at Site Support levelAbility to adapt to changing environments
