Powertrain Mechanical Development – Air, Fuel & ExhaustJob Purpose:Deliver Air, Fuel and Exhaust development and validation testing in accordance with component & vehicle development plans. To robustly prove out product attribute targets. Support vehicle programme timing, cost and quality across all business projects.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Define component and system targets with Design TeamCreate and maintain test procedureCreate and own component, system and vehicle DVPPlan and execute mechanical development / performance development testingResponsible for supplier validation and integrity of supplier DVPLead problem solving investigation that occur during development programmeBecome integral part of vehicle team to follow integration of air/ fuel and exhaust systems into the powertrainWork closely with build teams to ensure optimized instrumentation layout/requirementsWork closely with virtual validation teams to guide analysis and correlation to test resultsAnalysis and interpretation of physical test results to correlate simulation and validate design functionOptimization of current test procedure and data analysis toolsDevelop close working relationships with the external partnersWork closely with calibration team to ensure correct/reliable performanceSupport PT Systems S.E.T Team as an active memberQualification & Experience:Extensive experience in hands-on powertrain testing / development rolesFailure investigations and problem solvingManaging and developing external engineering resourceDriving optimization through analysisClose collaboration with design and simulation teams, understanding data analysis and design processWorking across functional teams effectively to deliver viable design solutionsManaged concern resolutionWorking within an OEM environmentPrior demonstration of testing budget and timing managementItalian language skillsIndustry standard dyno and vehicle validation proceduresAstute project control including resource planning, timing, milestones, and meeting disciplinesMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, strong background in powertrain developmentIndustry related courses – HV electrification safety awareness
