The role will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines. The ability to communicate well and build relationships quickly will be key for this role, as well as being able to grasp the structure of the organization and how we operate. You will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information to key business partners, external stakeholders and Group functions.You will work closely with the business partners to understand their individual requirements.This is a hybrid role with a requirement to be one day on-site in our Colchester office. This role is expected to assume some of the following key responsibilities:Preparation and review of allocated VAT returns (UK and overseas)Review of EC Sales lists and intrastate declarationsReview of balance sheet tax related reconciliations by set deadlineAssist with the review of the annual PSA returnsMonitor postings made to VAT accounts and ensuring all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly postedProvide advice and guidance to other teams within the shared services and within the divisions in terms of offering guidance on new products, invoice complexities and adhoc queriesAssist with setting up new VAT registrations across the worldComplete system testing for new VAT rules and new productsEnsure systems are up to date for Vat rate changes, liaising with the system teams as appropriatePrepare and provide VAT training to other SSC teams and the business as requiredLiaise with tax advisors, both overseas and UK, as requiredAssist in addressing Tax authority queries in a timely and efficient mannerAssist with relevant project work (eg. acquisitions, disposals, restructuring etc.)Qualifications4 years relevant Tax & Financial Accounting experienceExcellent communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders within the businessHighly organized, diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills whilst working under pressureStrong presentation skillsAdvanced skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essentialProven ability to work to stringent deadlinesKnowledge of SAP and Oracle system preferableAdditional InformationWe work hard to make sure Life at Informa is rewarding, supportive and enjoyable for everyone.
