The purpose of the job is to manage all p rocess e ngineering, p rocess s afety m anagement and assigned c apex projects for the manufacturing facility to ensure statutory , legal and corporate c ompliance and ensure products are manufactured to meet corporate and customer requirements.
Qualifications :
BSc Chemical Engineering
Experience :
5 to 10 years p rocess s afety e xperience in a high paced chemical manufacturing environment , preferably in a batch processing reaction chemistry environment.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain ing and improve process engineering performance .
- Effective management of c apex projects .
- Maintain ing and improve process safety .
- Developing and driving the implementation of process safety strategies and action plans addressing process safety risk and process safety management system maturity;
- Overall implementation, monitoring, reporting, sustaining and building upon the sites existing process safety management system (practices, metrics)
- Implement ing continuous improvement and project management initiatives .
- Maintain ing and improve SHERQ m anufacturing performance . (HAZOPs, other PHAs, MOCs);
- Support ing group level process safety initiatives.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
- Must be c onversant with the entire manufacturing plant structure .
- Strong understanding of system safety and hazard identification and risk analysis process (HIRA) .
- Risk assessment skills, general problem-solving using data analytics and root cause failure analysis techniques .
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, process safety, policies, procedures , OHS Act and other relevant legislation .
- K nowledge of DCS configuration .
- Advanced knowledge of related chemistries and chemical manufacturing technologies .
- Advanced knowledge of engineering and engineering design principles .
- Advanced project management skills and portfolio management principles and have the ability to lead projects .
- Strong l eadership and management skills and abilities .
