ROLE PURPOSE
The Business Development Engineer is pivotal in forging and nurturing robust customer relationships, uncovering business opportunities, and advocating for the Company's extensive array of interconnect solutions, with responsibilities including visits to neighbouring countries and travel across Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS
- Cultivate and sustain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Grasp customer needs and specifications, deliver effective solutions, and guarantee customer contentment.
- Seek and capitalize on new business prospects within the designated region, namely Africa.
- Meet sales goals and objectives by vigorously endorsing the Company's products and services.
- Collaborate with the sales team to devise and execute potent sales strategies.
- Remain abreast of the Company's product line, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Offer technical assistance and advice to customers, showcasing an in-depth comprehension of the products.
- Execute market analysis to pinpoint prospective clients and market movements.
- Regularly update management on market situations, competitive actions, and customer insights.
- Engage closely with internal departments, such as engineering, marketing, and customer service, to ensure fluid communication and collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of Grade 12
- Degree, Trade Certificate, or Technical N4 Qualification
- Proven sales experience, preferably in interconnect solutions or electronics industry
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and articulate complex technical information
- Excellent skills in communication, presentation, and negotiation
- Self-motivated, proactive, and driven by results
- Minimum of 5 years in customer and/or product experience in technical sales
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, and Email)
