Overall Goal of the Strategic Insights Manager Position:
The Strategic Insights Manager position will lead all analytics for the Spice Business Unit utilizing sales and market data to discover targeted areas of growth and opportunity as well as competitive insights for all brands within the Sauer Brands Spice portfolio. This position, as a part of the Brand Analytics/Revenue Operations/Mix & Margin Management team, will own providing actionable insights into market opportunities and customer level performance in collaboration with the Marketing Team and Commercial Sales Team. The Strategic Insights Manager also leads analysis into strategic initiatives and works directly with the Brand Managers and BU Directors to build strategic recommendations. Most importantly, this individual will be an active member in bringing the Sauer Brands Recipe to life.
Strategic Insights Manager Job Summary:
The Strategic Insights Manager will own driving our data-driven thought leadership and consumer insights strategy for all Spice products in the Sauer Brands Spice portfolio. They will lead reporting and analyzing business performance, developing and presenting sales presentations in collaboration with Commercial Sales, and act as the business units’ cross-functional strategy and analytics expert. The Strategic Insights Manager will be an active owner in developing brand marketing and cross-functional business strategies and processes in order to understand key business issues and priorities. The position reports directly to the Director of Revenue Operations and regularly meets with the BU President and presents to company leadership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Strategic Insights Manager:
• Building strategic recommendations for business unit
• Reporting and Analysis of Reports
• Actively provide actionable recommendations to improve brand performance at the customer level
• Integrate consumer and marketplace data and analysis to generate consumer-centric insights and provide actionable recommendations
• Collaborate with Sauer Brands Retail and Away From Home sales teams to identify key opportunities with their customers
• Utilize syndicated data to provide actionable insights and develop sales strategies for growth in key retailers
• Monitor competitive activity within our customers, and make recommendations on brand responses
• Analyze and make recommendations on assortment mix with each customer
• Develop and prepare key customer performance reports and tracking
• Continuously assess product gaps within key customers and identify new distribution and new product opportunities
• Become the category expert at Sauer Brands’ top customers

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Art degree in business or other related and relevant technical discipline. Advanced degree would be preferred
• 5+years of relevant consumer experience (CPG industry experience preferred) or 2+ years of strategic consulting experience (CPG-specific experience preferred)
• 2+years' experience with syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen)
• Other:
• Position will require regular and consistent travel (20%)
• Preferred location is Richmond, VA
