Indy Paws Veterinary Hospital is a family-oriented veterinary practice located in the Little Flower neighborhood outside of downtown Indianapolis. We are excited to offer the opportunity for a full-time doctor to join our progressive team._
_About Indy Paws:_
* _Busy general practice that sees a varied caseload daily_
* _Appointments from 8:15 am to 5:45 pm Monday-Friday_
* _One or more surgery days (if interested) per week_
* _Several local emergency clinics nearby, requiring no after-hours/on-call_
* _Alliance partnership with nearby hospitals, allowing for referrals for advanced diagnostic procedures and collaboration in complicated cases_
* _Small staff that are eager to learn: you can focus on being a __Veterinarian._
* _Renovation of half the clinic in early 2018, adding a sterile surgical suite (with CO2 laser), treatment/prep area, dog ward with separate cat area with updated break and laundry room; Plans to continue updating the building in upcoming __years._
* _Practice best medicine utilizing our full Idexx in-house laboratory and reference, Digital Radiology, Ultrasound (with real-time training built-in) and fully stocked __pharmacy._
* _eVet cloud-based practice management and online pharmacy with Vets First Choice_
* _Indianapolis is a bustling city known for the famous Indianapolis 500 car race! Indy Paws Veterinary Hospital close proximity to downtown allows for easy commute to many great suburbs. Job Description*_
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic Doctor with excellent communication skills who is committed to building lasting relationships with our team, clientele, and the community. Our goal at Indy Paws is to provide consistent, high quality, progressive and individualized veterinary medical care for our patients._
_We allow flexible scheduling for excellent work-life balance. For full-time veterinarians (36-40 hours weekly), we will offer a full benefits package including: guaranteed salary with production-based commission; health, vision, dental, and life insurance, association dues, 401k with company match, CE allowance, vacation pay, as well as clothing allowance. Salary is commensurate with experience._

Qualifications*
Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
Active Veterinary State License
USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire

Additional Information*
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
+ Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
+ Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
+ Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
+ The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request.
+ Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
+ Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
+ Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
+ Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
