The Branch Operations Manager is primarily responsible for performing operation, administrative, and inventory control functions for the Branch. This includes managing the inventory to support sales growth and meet area asset management goals. The Branch Operations Manager will oversee and ensure appropriate and consistent standards and service with regard to the Hercules’ customer fulfillment processes and work procedures (order picking, for Will Call and delivery orders, assembly, packaging, loading, product delivery and administrative process flow) and customer order completion (handling product returns/complaints). This position is also responsible for other general branch operational management functions as needed. These functions may be assigned by both the branch manager and corporate office personnel. General accounting questions of the branch may also be directed to this individual. $81,000-$108,000 annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directs all branch operation activities in accordance with established policies and objectives and ensures that operation objectives for the branch are achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Works with Regional Operations Manager to establish an operating budget for the branch and strives to maintain costs within that budget.
Recruits, hires, coaches, and develops branch operation employees as well as ensures that personnel are delegated adequate authority to carry out their responsibilities and objectives, but that limitations of their authority are defined and clearly communicated.
Creates and maintains a safe work environment. The branch facility must be kept in a clean and organized manner so as to reduce or eliminate obstacles and thereby creating a safe and accident-free environment. Must be aware of and fully understand all safety rules and procedures as directed by the company and ensure that all branch employees follow all safety rules and procedures and are properly trained to conduct their job in the safest manner possible. Responds to the safety manager regarding all aspects of the company safety program.
Maintains harmonious customer, potential customer, and vendor relationships, and establishes a healthy “team” oriented relationships with employees.
Ensures communication of and compliance with all company human resource policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned, including the general oversight and management of the Branch Task List.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Daily/Weekly functions:
Works directly with purchasing department to monitor branch inventory levels to optimize customer service and meet financial objectives.
In an effort to maintain satisfactory inventory turns at the branch, constantly reviews and addresses overstock, slow-moving and dead inventory items.
Places purchase orders and warehouse transfers as needed. Monitors incoming and outgoing branch transfers; resolves and reviews discrepancies with Regional Operations Manager.
Receives purchase orders into the computer system and resolves receiving discrepancies. Reports discrepancies to the A/P department.
Researches and resolves any inventory discrepancies.
Prints, analyzes, and reviews with Regional Operations Manager negative on-hand report (minimum – once per week.)
Reviews daily delivery log.
Conducts branch cycle counts.
Assists in researching billing disputes.
Oversees general daily operations of branch.
Performs and posts daily Branch sales edit if necessary.
Responsible for performing and scheduling building maintenance and repairs.
Monthly functions:
Reviews open order report and open transfer report with Regional Operations Manager and resolves discrepancies.
After research and analysis, processes appropriate inventory adjustments based on count discrepancies or inventory damage.
Annual/Other functions:
Assists and coordinates all year-end inventory activity.
Answers/research inventory questions from corporate personnel.

Three years operations management experience within a wholesale organization; experience within the HVAC products and services industry preferred.
High School diploma or GED required.
Attention to detail and good analytical skills.
General knowledge of products and pricing.
Strong leadership, problem solving and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and deadlines.
Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experience with Harris Data Systems a plus.
Experience with the Latitude Warehouse Management System a plus.
Familiarity with general office procedures.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.
COMPUTER SKILLS: The job requires strong computer skills including intermediate level proficiency with the ability to master new computer applications quickly. Excellent computer skills with data entry experience, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer, branch and inventory issues and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
