Overview:
To perform “surgical” technician duties. Assisting with draping and the utilization of instruments for a particular surgery. Basic knowledge of sterile technique and sterilization procedures. Qualifications:
Education:
High-school graduate diploma. Anatomy and Physiology class preferred
A graduate operating-room technician or previous experience as an OR Technician.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
CPR certification required, or obtained during nursing team onboarding process.
Responsibilities:
Performs duties in a capacity of “surgical” technician as prescribed by hospital policies and procedures.
Assists in the orderly functioning of the Surgery Department.
Performs appropriate intra-operative techniques to assist physician.
Pursues educational opportunities to maintain and expand personal and professional goals.
Actively participates in competency assessment process.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
