Description:
UCFS is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate APRN to join our team of pediatric healthcare providers. As an APRN in our School Based Health Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents.
This is an academic year position for 3 days a week (21 hr), with the potential for an additional 2 days (14 hr) to make a fulltime (35 hr) position at our Norwich Health Center.
Essential Responsibilities –
Within the APRN or PA scope of practice, provides primary health care, including preventive care services, for students in the school setting including but not limited to:
Conducting physical examinations, assessing patient history, and diagnosing illnesses and injuries in pediatric patients
Developing and implementing patient care plans, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests
Providing education and counseling to patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
Working with school staff to promote services for students

Requirements:
Master's degree and current Connecticut licensure as APRN or Physician Assistant
Prefer one to three years’ experience (Ambulatory care experience preferred)
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
