This position requires the use of metal working equipment and programs to take raw materials and information from drawings and sketches to transform them into finished components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
Knowledge in use of all manual and CNC metal working equipment and measuring Instruments.
Ability to interpret detailed shop drawings and their dimensional tolerancing
Capable of machining new parts from raw material and repair of used parts to original specifications with minimal supervision.
Establishes or adjusts work processes and procedures to meet production schedules.
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Maintains machine maintenance records as required.
Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED, Accredited Machinist School graduate (Journeyman certification), and/or 5+ years of machining experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Stamping die experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses: Journeyman Machinist certificate or relative machine shop experience required (see above).
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Solidworks, Solidworks CAM, Solidcam plugin, 2D drafting program (AUTOCAD or equivalent) required.
Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Has broad knowledge of shop mathematics, and materials.
Computer Skills: Must be PC literate with CNC programming knowledge.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Comprehend job training and safety instructions. Work with problems involving variables and apply sound reasoning.
Other Requirements: Has required skill in operation of all hand tools, measurement instruments, and machine tools. Has required knowledge of all tooling and jigs and fixtures related to machining. Has high level of mechanical ability
