The incumbent must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology and be registry eligible. ARRT registry is preferred. Must be certified in Radiology within 1 year of hire. This position is accountable for being cross trained in Diagnostic Radiology and at least one other modality CT or MRI. This position must be competent to operate all diagnostic Radiography equipment and either the MRI or the C.T. scanner, transportation of patients to and from the department, managing the daily schedule. Should be able to start an IV line to administer contrast fluid. Must be able to handle patient support equipment, i.e. IV pump, O2, etc. The incumbent helps clean rooms, helps order supplies, transmit images to the PACS,, assist physicians with invasive procedures, provides basic patient care, and some light clerical work. Must be available for 24-hour call back with 45 minute response time when on call.
The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
New hires will have 1 year to cross train in a second advanced modality, and when full competent to work independently in specialty modality, the will be promoted to Multi-skilled if not hired in with the skills already
Certification in Radiology is required and in CT or MRI preferred and encouraged
