Speech Language Pathologist
Full Time Day Shift
The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for treatment of patients and communication with staff, patients, patient families and physicians. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing direct patient care, demonstrating fiscal awareness, assisting with maintenance of supplies/equipment as needed for operation of department, and assisting in developing programs for the department. Coordinates daily functions/activities of the department. The position will require flexibility to encompass all professional areas within the organization realm and competencies to be met as appropriate.

* *Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology*
* *Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification *
* *Must hold a Clinical Fellowship Year certificate or Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Must be approved or licensed to practice in the field of Speech/Language Pathology in the State of Alabama by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA)*
* *New graduates eligible*. *Potential mix pediatric/adult and OP/acute care, experience with adult dysphagia management a plus or willing to learn.*
About the Job:
* Provide comprehensive evaluations and testing, speech therapy treatments and education to patients who have speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders as well as patients who have problems swallowing in accordance with State Regulations and departmental policies.
* Plans, develops and implements a result-oriented treatment plan responsive to the individualized needs of the patient and includes clear, measurable goals. Modifies the treatment plan according to the patient's responses.
* Offer guidance, training, and support to staff and parents on speech therapy matters.
* Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
