What We Are Looking For
GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of HVAC Technician to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and replacing residential heating and cooling equipment.
How You’ll Help
Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled on a daily basis
Install new heating, cooling and ventilation systems
Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
Perform consultations with customers, determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods
Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
Troubleshoot and repair current HVAC system issues
Keep record of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices
Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
Experience/Skills You’ll Need
Must have a valid Texas Driver License
Must have or be able to obtain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification
Knowledge of wiring schematics, load calculations and have strong fundamentals in working with mobile technology-based devices
Must possess great personality, positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to self-start, multi-task, and learn quickly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
Able to pass a Criminal History Background Check, physical, drug and alcohol screen
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift 25 lbs. on a consistent basis
Emergency situations and busy seasons may require some Saturdays and overtime
Preferred Experience/Skills
2-3 years of experience in installation/service of residential heating and cooling equipment
Current State of Texas HVAC License
North American Technician Excellence Certification
Your Pay
The pay range for this role is between $27.00-$35.00/hr. and will be commensurate based on your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition, GVEC ties cash bonuses to a multitude of Cooperative benchmarks set forth annually.
