THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
The Orderly is responsible for helping our O.R. to run smoothly. You will provide routine housekeeping and environmental sanitation, assist with inventory control, materials management, and transportation of the patient. You will assist with the turnover of the operating rooms and assist nursing personnel to expedite quality patient care and safety.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
You will report general repair issues and special housekeeping problems to the appropriate manager.
You will dispose of general and medical waste in the appropriate receptacles on a regular schedule.
You will attach the BP cuff, EKG monitor, and pulse oximeter to the patient, and report patient observations/problems to the nurses.
You will transport patients from pre-op to the operating room, and back to post-op.
You will position patients in the operating room and place the O2 swan in position under the patient.
At discharge, you will transport patients via wheelchair to their vehicle.
Other duties as assigned.
