Take your skills on the road in a company provided vehicle and be the front-line contact to our current and prospective customers. This is a new territory that runs through parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Northern Illinois that has a strong base of existing customers. All sales expenses including food, hotel and company vehicle expenses are paid for by Midland, and you receive a phone plan reimbursement.
Travel
This position requires a flexible schedule and requires overnight travel 80% of the time.
Responsibilities
Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, assuring favorable impression of self and the company.
Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and prospective customers. Identify opportunities where we can make conversions and take orders.
Create, implement, maintain, and execute a territory plan that leads to sales growth in line with sales goals and company profitability expectations.
Effectively present our products and services and is able to overcome barriers to close the sale by clearly communicating the features, benefits, and value of our products, services, and company.
Manage and interpret customer requirements – speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs. Assists customers with problem solving, product selection and pricing – as well as any point-of-sale materials.
Introduce and demonstrate new products and services to existing and prospective customers.
Present and educate an audience of customers, contractors, architects and buying influencers.
Attend customer functions including (but not limited to) trade shows, contractor events, and Parade homes.
Identify and resolve customer concerns – and recommend a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
Assist with warranties as required.
Manage the territory account list including determining what accounts you will see at what frequency.
Maintain knowledge of industry and competitor products. Identify and report on competitor strategies, products, and trends.
Maintain a professional image of self and a professional work environment including vehicle.
Coordinates with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner by your customers.
Education and Experience:
High School or GED required, college degree preferred and 3-5 years of relevant sales and related industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above. Must possess a valid driver’s license and an MVR that qualifies per the auto insurance requirement.
