THE POSITION:
Physical Therapy Assistant - Brighton – Full-time: No weekends
The Physical Therapist Assistant will help Physical Therapists provide physical therapy treatments and procedures. The Physical Therapist Assistant may, in accordance with state laws, assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.
Observe the patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.
Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.
Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.
Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
Associate degree or certification from a physical therapy program that included course study in anatomy and physiology, and clinical experience.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
Willing to innovate current practices to provide the top-level care
Experience working with pediatrics
Experience working with children with autism
