Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited therapy program
Experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Current Occupational Therapy Assistant State License
Reports To:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will report to the Therapy Director.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists in providing rehabilitative services to persons with metal, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
Specific Job Duties:
Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments.
Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement.
Assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintains this information in client records.
Assists occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans.
Reports to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
Performs clerical duties.
Willing to assist at both CCH-Hudson and CCH-Osceola.
Assists in keeping the department and gym area in order.

Physical Requirements:
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the phone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the phone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighting a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds the minimum requirements. Must be able to withstand prolonged or considerable walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching.
