We are seeking an In Home Therapist to join our team! It Takes a Family (ITAF), is a dynamic social service organization seeking a hard-working individual to function in a demanding In Home Therapist position in the South Jersey Area. This position requires extreme attention to detail, the ability to multitask as well as excellent networking ability.
ITAF is a State licensed Outpatient mental health facility with locations in Cinnaminson, Bridgeton, Lawrenceville, Galloway, Pennsville and East Orange NJ. We are an innovative grassroots organization that strongly believes in a collaborative approach when working with clients. We are fully persuaded in the power of a supportive system which is the reason for our strong advocacy for family involvement. We employ an amalgamation of behavioral interventions as well as pharmacological treatment in order to encourage wellness sound mental health in NJ.
Duties:
* Provide assessment and ongoing individual, family, and couples counseling to clients.
* Complete timely clinical documentation (intake, progress note, treatment plans) via Electronic Health Record and on paper.
* Opportunities to conduct group therapy available.
* The ability to observe students in a classroom setting
* To conduct observations for purposes of planning and individualizing for the referred child, it will involve planning, developing report and recommendations including but not limited to one on one support
* Be a mental health professional(s) with experience and expertise in serving young children and their families.
* Meet with the Disabilities/Mental Health Team to contribute to program planning, including but not limited to; selecting screening tools for social-emotional development and behaviors, making recommendations for students and in services needs for educators.
* Develop reports from site observations within two weeks of visit
* Be available on the mutually agreed days as part of a regular schedule of visits:
* Begin center visits for classroom observations, staff and parent consultation as needed 9-12 pm.
* Monthly Consultation with Mental Health/ Disabilities Manager.
* Provide training and education for individual parents, parent committees, and/or staff upon request.
* Participate in Individual Program Plan (IPP) process, including the family in the process, as appropriate.
* Assist, as needed, in helping staff with training needs as to implementing IEPs and IFSPs, developed by the child study teams and early intervention programs, in the Head Start classroom.
* Work with the Disabilities/Mental Health Manager, Child/Family Site Director, the families, the Family Workers, and the classroom staff to assist families in accessing appropriate community and mental health services
* As appropriate; observe children, consult with Disabilities/Mental Health Manager, Child/Family Site Director, the families, the Family Workers, and the classroom staff to review child’s progress; and provide follow-up services
* Other duties as assigned
