Key Responsibilities:
Shift is Monday-Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with occasional on-call.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair:
Engines: gas and diesel, as well as turbos, injectors, cooling systems.
Power trains: differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs, and wheel ends
Electrical: starters, alternators, HVAC, and steering systems
Electronic: ECMs, ECUs, sensors
Brakes: ABS, suspension systems (air and spring)
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and scheduled services on truck and trailer equipment.
Identify warranty or recall repairs and document as per company protocol.
Uphold Department of Transportation and Department of Ecology safety and environmental standards.
Safely weld, operate hand tools, hydraulic lifts, pneumatic tools, and other power equipment.
Use sound and test instruments and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area.
Maintain and foster team building and communications with all departments.
Job Requirements
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or high school diploma and two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Driver’s License; CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred (or willingness to gain CDL and endorsements with company assistance).
Demonstrated proficiency using shop tools and must have own set of hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret written, verbal, and other forms of communication and respond verbally and/or in writing.
Ability to perform basic math calculations, understand units of measurement, and solve moderately complex problems when given general information.
Must possess an understanding of vehicle safety and environmental regulations.
Specific knowledge of petroleum tank trucks, diesel and gas vehicles, and petroleum equipment is preferred.
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Cummins Insite and Detroit Diagnosticlink systems preferred.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role.
