*Summary/Objective *
Perform skilled, journeyman-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, & fixtures used in housing, farming, packaging, and offices of the fruit industry.
The Electrician is responsible for the undertaking of a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure of the company. This in turn assures that all electrical components of warehouse, storages, farms, pumps, offices, & packing equipment and facilities, function in a safe and efficient manner. This position involves installing electrical wiring in buildings or underground, troubleshooting malfunctions, and preparing recommendations to support future needs.
This position reports to the Director of Facility Operations and Development.
*Essential Functions *

* Provide input in the design of new electrical systems.
* Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning electrical systems.
* Familiarity with the use of tools related to the electrical trade.
* Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment, and distribution components (e.g. circuit-breaker panels, and fuses switches).
* Connect wiring in electrical circuits ensuring compatibility of components.
* Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
* Work from blueprints, shop drawings, or concept sketches.
* At times, work independently with little direction.
* Assure maintenance needs by routinely inspecting electrical systems.
* Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
* Theory of operation, installation, programming, and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units and other computer equipment.
* Assists Refrigeration, Warehouse Equipment Mechanics, and IT Departments as necessary.
* Operate generators in support of company requirements.
* Notifies Purchasing Agent of needed electrical parts for repair and maintains adequate inventory.
* Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet and the ability to use aerial platform lifts and perform ladder work.
* Possess an understanding of controls, ladder logic and programming of PLC’s.
* Keeps electrical shop and workspaces clean and orderly.

*Supervisory Responsibility*
The Electrician role has no supervisory responsibilities.
*Work Environment*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Requires climbing, standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces. Workspaces include indoor and outdoor environments. This job also operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May be subject to after-hours calls and services.
*Physical Demands*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
*Required Education and Experience*
* Valid WA State Electrician Certificate. In lieu of a certificate, may consider a valid license or diploma in relevant vocational training or successful completion of an apprenticeship as an Electrician.
* Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools and electrical drawings and blueprints.
* Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
* Thorough knowledge of WA State and National electrical codes and their application.
*Preferred Education and Experience*
* Prior experience in industrial, residential and commercial electrical systems and installation.
