Job Summary: Gathers information from patients including health history, vital signs, and current complaints. Prepares patients for exams, procedures, and gathers all needed equipment. Accurately documents care given and shares pertinent information with the medical providers. Performs basic lab tests, blood draws, injections, dressing changes, set-ups for procedures and other tasks as directed by the medical providers. Has IV certification or is willing to acquire this skill to establish intravenous access in clinic patients as directed by medical providers. Handles patient calls/requests and interacts with pharmacies and other healthcare entities in the delivery of patient care. Monitors and assists medical providers to maintain adequate medical supplies, maintains assigned clinic logs, and other tasks as assigned. Interest and ability to deliver culturally competent care to an inclusive, equitable and respectful campus community.

Minimum Qualifications: Licensed as a practical nurse in accordance with Chapter 464 Florida Statutes or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Section 210 Florida Administrative Code.
Position Qualifications: Graduate of a State-approved training program in practical nursing. Current license in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification. Assumes responsibility for providing care within scope of practice, ethical conduct, and the guidelines of Florida nursing laws. Must be familiar with HIPAA regulations. Must possess excellent communication skills, be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public in a professional, caring, respectful, and non-judgmental manner. Ability to respond promptly to providers' directions and assist providers in meeting the physical and mental health needs of patients. Must have at least two years recent clinical experience in a hospital, doctor's office, outpatient clinic, or similar setting and have good computer skills.

10% - Assists medical providers to monitor and maintain adequate medical supplies to operate the clinic in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Contributes to quality assurance of medical records and maintains clinic logs as required by law. - (Essential)
5% - Participates in staff meetings; serves on university committees, university task forces, and program and planning at the request of the Associate Director. Participates in continuing education activities required to maintain licensure in the State of Florida. Additional duties as assigned - (Essential)
