*Job Summary*
As nurses of Pomerene Hospital it is our responsibility to support the mission and role of Pomerene Hospital within the organization and out in the community at all times. Professionalism must be maintained throughout employment and includes physical appearance and behavioral presentation.The RN Circulator assigned to the OR will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, timely, effective, quality, age appropriate, culture appropriate, cost conscious, evidenced based care while utilizing the nursing process and holistic patient care. The RN Circulator assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises patient care on an individualized basis, according to organizational policies and procedures. As nurses we will provide clinical leadership for patient care. Within the level of the nurse's qualifications, may be assigned to work on other nursing units based on patient census and staffing needs.

Essential Functions*
* Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide direct patient care as
described in the tasks and duties of this position.
* Appropriately and professionally assists surgeons with surgical procedures.
* Provides appropriate patient and family education.
* Must be within 30 minutes of the facility while on-call.
* Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
* Maintains high standards for professional nursing practice.
* Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
* Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
* Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient.
* Includes PSP / family members in discussion of nursing plan of care, medications, consultations with physicians and discharge instructions. Encourages PSP / family.

Education and Experience*
* Associate Degree Nursing- Required.
* Bachelor's Degree Nursing- Preferred.
* 1-3 Years of Experience in a Healthcare/Medical setting as a Registered Nurse- Preferred.
* Valid State of Ohio RN Licensure- Required.
* BLS and ACLS Certification- Required (May be obtained during orientation period).
* PALS Certification- Required (May be obtained within first six months of employment).
