Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will support day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring that goods are picked, packed, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on role requiring good attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Picking, Packing & Dispatch
· Accurately pick and pack customer orders following company procedures.
· Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring secure packaging and correct labelling.
· Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles throughout the working day.
Stock Handling & Warehouse Operations
· Move stock and pallets using a forklift and pallet trucks
· Replenish warehouse stock locations and maintain accurate stock levels.
· Conduct routine stock checks and assist with stock rotation.
· Manage inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring correct documentation.
Warehouse Housekeeping
· Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse environment.
· Follow housekeeping schedules including sweeping, waste management, and organising storage areas.
· Assist with general upkeep of warehouse facilities.
· Health & Safety Compliance
· Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe operation of machinery.
· Ensure the warehouse operates in full compliance with legal and company standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach (Training can be provided)
· Strong computer literacy (e.g., email, data entry, use of warehouse management systems)
· Previous warehouse experience
· Ability to lift and move items safely
· Comfortable handling items up to around 25kg
· Thorough attention to detail and accuracy in order processing
· Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
· Reliable, punctual, and proactive
Desirable
Knowledge of heating, plumbing, or construction products.
