Job Overview
Blue Tower Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate transport operations across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Health & Safety (H+S) and be capable of ensuring compliance, efficiency, and safe working practices within our transport function.
This role requires regular travel between our sites in Grimsby, Immingham, and Hull, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily transport operations across all sites
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and Health & Safety regulations
- Develop, implement, and monitor H+S policies and procedures
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are followed
- Oversee vehicle compliance, maintenance schedules, and inspections
- Manage driver compliance including hours, training, and records
- Liaise with site managers and senior management to support operational needs
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions
- Maintain accurate transport and compliance documentation
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role
- Strong background in Health & Safety (essential)
- Good knowledge of transport legislation and compliance standards
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable Qualifications
- Transport Manager CPC
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent)
