Job Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for the efficient installation, implementation, and maintenance of network hardware and cabling, as outlined in solution proposals. This includes key components of CCTV, phone systems, and power solutions. The role requires ensuring network reliability, security, and high-performance connectivity for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Network Installation & Implementation: Set up and configure network hardware, cabling, and connectivity solutions.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose Layer 1-3 network issues and escalate unresolved problems to senior engineers.
Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and upgrade network, WiFi, firewall, and security systems.
Customer Support: Provide technical assistance to clients, resolving network-related challenges.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, ISPs, and vendors to ensure optimal service delivery.
Project Execution: Complete all assigned tasks on time and in accordance with best practices.
Documentation & Reporting: Enter work progress and issues into job cards and internal ticketing systems.
Compliance & Best Practices: Follow company SOPs and ensure network security best practices.
Requirements
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and access points (e.g., MikroTik, Cisco, Ubiquiti, FortiGate).
Basic knowledge of network protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP).
Experience with WiFi setup, troubleshooting, and signal optimization.
Familiarity with firewalls, network security, and VPN configurations.
Ability to monitor network health using tools like PRTG, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
