Legal CashierSalisbury, WiltshireTemporary (12 months maternity cover)We are looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join our friendly team in Salisbury on a 12 month temporary contract to cover maternity leave from July 2025.Role & Responsibilities The main focus of the role will be to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department, ensuring the smooth running of all cashiering duties. This includes managing the accounting system, billing, credit control, client balance management. You will handle account processing alongside our Junior Legal Cashier, manage client payments via online banking, and ensure that the firm meets all SRA and other regulatory requirements.This is a 4 day a week position, with salary based on experience.• Reconciling bank statements• Processing supplier payments• Posting client and office transactions• Setting up CHAPS and BACS payments• Checking completion statements• Managing petty cash transactions• Month-end processing• Managing payroll, liaising with our accountants regarding hours, new starters, and PAYE/NI• Reconciling the partners credit card expenses• Preparing VAT reports• Creating and apportioning invoicesSkills & Experience• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounts department of a law firm• Strong understanding of legal finance, Solicitors Accounts Rules, SRA and regulatory compliance• Excellent numeracy, communication, and time management skills• Ability to work effectively under pressure• High level of accuracy and attention to detail• Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)• Experience with One Advanced ALB would be an advantageWhat’s in it for you?• Company pension • Employee discount • 25 days holiday How to ApplyTo apply, please send a copy of your CV and a short covering by clicking "Apply" now!
