POSITION OVERVIEW
The Instructional Coach/Service-Learning Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing teaching excellence and fostering meaningful community engagement across our diverse international school community. This dynamic position combines instructional leadership with service-learning expertise, supporting teachers in developing innovative pedagogical approaches while designing and implementing impactful service initiatives that connect our students with local and global communities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with faculty to enhance classroom instruction through research-based coaching practices, while also cultivating partnerships with community organizations and guiding students in meaningful service projects that align with our curriculum and globally connected philosophy. This role requires someone who can seamlessly integrate academic rigor with experiential learning opportunities, ensuring that our service initiatives deepen student learning while making a positive impact on our host community and beyond.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Masters degree and relevant teaching certification with a minimum of 5 years classroom experience
- Leadership experience as a team leader, coordinator, coach, or similar role in an international school
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including adaptability, flexibility, and acceptance of a level of ambiguity
- Experience with effective student-centered instructional and assessment practices
- Extensive experience with curriculum development
- Experience in inquiry/concept-based learning and the ability to support its development
- Experience in presenting and leading workshops on best practices to a diverse audience
- Understanding of and experience with supporting a wide range of learner needs
- Recent and relevant professional development
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coach, support, and mentor effective teaching and learning practices with all teachers
- Coach and support teachers in the development of appropriate and authentic service-learning activities that support differentiated and integrated approaches
- In collaboration with the Leadership Team, divisional representatives, and other teachers, promote and support a strong service-learning leadership and ethos throughout the school to enable students of all abilities, needs, and cultural backgrounds to progress
- Assist with the development of curriculum and curricular materials
- Support teachers in planning mechanisms to articulate differentiated, integrated, and authentic assessment practices related to service learning
- Assist in the development and implementation of professional learning activities that support the school’s strategic direction for service learning
- Other instructional-related tasks as needed by the organization

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 192 school days per year plus occasional evening/weekend presentations or support as needed.
