Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) finds quality leads and converts them into successful product, service, or solution deals. To achieve consistent growth in the company customer base and sales figures by achieving sales/revenue targets, ensuring business growth and ultimately the success of the company and the achievement of its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage territory like a marketplace, constantly finding and closing new deals.
- Build long-term client relationships and cultivate service opportunities.
- Lead demand-generating sales activities in the assigned market.
- Convert sales opportunities to wins and invoices.
- Track billing and survey customer satisfaction.
- Maintain an extensive network of internal and external contacts.
- Coach, support, mentor, and challenge subordinates.
- Collaborate with executive and senior leadership across Business Units.
Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required
- Business development and sales management.
- Governance, risk, and business continuity.
- Business Management/Financial Management degree or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
- At least 5 years of sales experience with a documented successful track record in selling Asset Financing or IT solutions.
