The IIE Varsity College Pretoria Campus has a vacancy/ vacancies for a Part-Time Lecturer for the following modules:
- Places and Spaces: International Migration in The Global Age (PSIN6221)
- Africa in the Modern World (AFMW7321)
- Communication Science 1A: Interpersonal Communication (COSC5121)
Competencies Required:

- Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Ideal: Bachelor of Arts Honours/ Bachelor of Social Science Honours degree.
Alternatively: Postgraduate Diploma, MA/ MPhil, PhD/ DPhil qualification. NQF 8 qualification in social development, policy, and development.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Lecturing experience is required. Work experience is not as critical for the module as it is relatively theory-based, but lecturers must be able to apply the theory to a relevant work environment. A practicing sociologist in politics, rural or developmental sociology would be an advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role
- Positions are part-time, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday
