Production Responsibilities

Execution of planned production activities.
Ensuring targets are achieved.
Pre-shift meeting and inspection of work areas.
Monitors performance by means of reports, charts, graphs, studies, and visual inspections.
Loading, Hauling and Dump Control.
Loading areas.
Administration.

Maintenance Management

Ensure machinery is kept in good working condition.
Daily inspections.

Labour Management

Ensure complement is managed in line with budget.
Ensure subordinates’ KPIs are clearly defined.
Overtime management.
Leave management.
Industrial relations.

Desired Experience & Qualification

National Senior Certificate.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
A Diploma or Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering will be advantageous.
Must have an open pit blasting or rock breaking certificate.
Competency A, Legal Liability.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an open pit mining environment.
Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
Must have proven experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and be mechanically inclined.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination as required by the designated mines.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines as determined by the supervisor.
Must possess basic problem-solving and self-management skills.
