De La Salle Great Britain CIO(Charity No. 1208212)OxfordPart-Time (21 Hours), Archivist Salary: £18,000 – £21,000 (pro-rata of the full time salary of £30K - £36K) depending on experienceInitially a 24 Month Fix Term contractClosing Date for applicants: Monday 3rd February 2025The ideal candidate is a graduate with expertise and experience in the field of archives with the following skills and qualifications:● Shows enthusiasm in preserving records for posterity● Has excellent writing skills and proficient command of the English language● Is able to work on his/her own initiative within pre-established deadlines and parameters.● Can prove to be trustworthy and can respect confidentiality in relation to safeguarding, database use, and any other sensitive issues.● a logical approach to the work of identification and classification● organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload● experience of using databases or collections management systems● general IT skills and an interest in applying digital technology to archiving● competence in administrative procedures and project management skills● manual dexterity and, in some roles, skills in lifting, carrying and installing/moving archives.● Be willing to travel, including abroad.● Be willing to follow courses related to Lasallian history.The successful candidate will be responsible for:1. Evaluating records for preservation and retention2. Assessing items that may be fragile and need careful handling, & conservation3. Organising and cataloguing the collection to ISAD(G) standard4. Undertaking the digitisation of archives and related material5. Maintaining user-friendly, computer-aided search systems6. Identifying ways of protecting and preserving collections7.
