The company has a range of trackless mobile machines (TMMs) designed and manufactured locally in Boksburg, South Africa. These machines include low profile and narrow vein loaders predominantly for the smaller mining applications.
About the Role
A Quality Inspector, or QA Inspector, is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to make sure they meet company requirements. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests and identifying defects.
Key Responsibilities
Be able to read and interpret simple and complex drawings
Inspect fabricated frames, buckets and booms and ensure they are according to design specifications inhouse and at suppliers.
Welding Inspections
Non-destructive testing of materials
Evaluation of corrective action for non-conforming products and associated recommended corrective action.
Schedule planned inspections to ensure delivery aligns with production.
Ensure compliance of purchasing order to fabricated items.
Documenting and reporting product and service quality levels.
Develop and Implementing Quality check points throughout the fabrication process.
Develop plans to help company eliminate and manage waste
Communicate with other teams to solve problems
Execute quality improvement and testing activities
Ensure supplier and inhouse fabrication maintain standards for reliability and performance of production
Completion of rejection reports for non-compliant parts
Using standard tolerances to determine concession of parts
Evaluate and provide feedback to procurement and production on supplier and inhouse quality and relevant KPI requirements monthly
Candidate Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12
Valid Driver’s license
Required to travel
Relevant Trade
Extensive knowledge of fabrication, finishing and mining standards
5 years working experience in industry/workshop and fabrication environment
Effective use of technical skills
Welding inspection qualification
Six Sigma experience will be an added advantage
