We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner to join our dynamic team. As an Environmental Assessment Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments, Water Use Licences, Mining Permits, Environmental Monitoring, and Environmental Screening, as well as ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and contributing to the overall success of our projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Water Use Licence Applications (WULAs), Mining Permits, Environmental Monitoring (ECO duties), and Environmental Screening in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive environmental reports and documentation for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and clients, to facilitate communication and address concerns.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental legislation and ensure project compliance.
- Conduct site visits and fieldwork to gather relevant data for environmental assessments.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
- Provide expert advice on environmental best practices and sustainable development.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 8 years
QUALIFICATION
Honours degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred. Must be EPASA (Reg.EAP) and SACNASP (Pri.Nat.Sci) registered.
SKILLS
In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation, policies, and procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Professional registration with EAPASA and SACNASP.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office based.
PROPOSED SALARY
Market related based on experience.
