Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to join our Computershare Technology Services team (CTS). Whilst this is a predominantly remote position, we do require the successful candidate to live within a commutable distance of our Skipton office. There will be an expectation of periodic face to face collaboration which will not be covered under expenses.
This role sits within CTS, as part of a CLS dedicated Architecture team and is primarily focused on supporting CLS UK. CLS UK is Europe’s largest mortgage business processing outsourcer, administrating c£20 bn of mortgage loans for over 20 clients.

A role you will love
The Solution Architect is responsible for solution design and architecture delivery – providing architectural direction to teams and implementing architectural strategy. Working in the CLS UK Architecture team, collaborating with CLS operational stakeholders, other solution architects, development teams, software suppliers, infrastructure providers, enterprise architects and subject matter experts to contribute to the delivery of projects and programmes.
Starting from early engagement, the Solution Architect ensures that solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements whilst adhering to Computershare's architectural and security policy standards.
Reducing cost and complexity, managing risk and enhancing change flexibility across the technology estate. Liaising closely with the Global CTS Architecture community and participating in defining and implementing technical strategies.
The role ensures that local development teams work collaboratively with their global counterparts and align with global Architectural standards and strategy. Managing stakeholders expectations and perceptions.
Other key responsibilities include:
Work with development functions, business lines, product teams and Technology function (CTS) stakeholders to derive the technology future state and roadmaps.
Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies.
Define high-level transition plans to address the gaps between current and future state in line with IT budgeting and planning processes.
Understand the current state environment in terms of technology, risk, end of life and technical debt.
What will you bring to the role?
We’re looking for the post holder to have significant experience within a complex enterprise context and with architectures, spanning multiple technologies, providing valuable and timely information. In addition to expert experience of design and implementation of a diverse range of business applications across multiple channels.
Having worked with Developers, you will be familiar with DEVEOP's practices/pipelines, being well versed in working with technology vendors and of leading the design and architecture of a large technology project. Collaboration will be key to your success and you will have exceptional communication skills. Being adept at building effective working relationships with the ability to influence others, to challenge appropriately and respond well to challenge from others.
Experience of integration with Cloud-based applications/services and Azure cloud tooling – app registrations, permissions ensuring secure API integration is of particular interest, particularly from a financial services and market industry background.
Other skills & experience include:
Experience of creating application migration strategies, enabling transition away from legacy technologies.
Track record of architecting modern platforms using APIs, EAI, ETL and web services.
Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar.
Familiarity with Oauth2, OpenID authentication protocols and Identity Access Management using Azure AD.
Identifying and mitigating security risks across cloud and on-premises environments.
