Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive wine list that reflects the diverse tastes and preferences of our guests
- Source and purchase high-quality wines from reputable suppliers
- Provide exceptional wine service to guests in the dining and bar areas
- Train and supervise other crew members in wine service techniques
- Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for guests
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of wines
- Create and maintain relationships with wine vendors and suppliers
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairing menus
- Monitor and control costs related to the wine program
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments in the world of wine
- Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury cruise ship
- Extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food and wine pairings
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Attention to detail and a passion for providing exceptional service
- Certification from a recognized sommelier program is preferred
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
