Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including operations, staff training, and service execution.
- Lead by example, maintaining the highest culinary standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Develop and implement creative menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
- Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and ensure cost control measures are adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
- Step into the role of Head Chef during their absence, ensuring consistency and excellence.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale casual environment.
- A culinary qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Exceptional creativity and passion for innovative cuisine.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
