Principal Engineer – Electrical
Location: London
Length of contract: 3-6 months
Pay. £300-£340 per day
We are assisting a London NHS client with the recruitment of a Principal Engineer (Electrical) on an 3-6 month Contract. The successful candidate will have prior experience within a similar position and will already be an AP in HV.
You will coordinate and develop engineering teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory standards, and Health Technical Memoranda (HTM). This role involves managing complex engineering systems, supporting capital projects, and leading audits to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities:

Act as the Coordinating Authorised Person (AP) for LV and HV.

Develop and implement robust Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) for Electrical services.

Provide technical guidance on Electrical and related systems, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and best practices.

Lead and deliver engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets.

Contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the hospital’s estate, including long-term sustainability initiatives.

Support the recruitment, training, and development of engineering personnel.

Deliver comprehensive risk assessments, technical reports, and recommendations to senior management.

Promote engineering excellence, leading the Trust’s approach to resilience, governance, and infrastructure upgrades

Expertise in hospital engineering systems, with advanced knowledge of Electrical systems and HTM standards.

Proven experience in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects in healthcare or similar environments.

Strong project management, communication, and IT skills.
