Job & Company Description:
Urgently looking for an Asset Reconciliation Officer who will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the banks asset records through regular reconciliations. This role involves monitoring, analysing and resolving discrepancies between system records and resolving discrepancies between system records and physical or third-party statements, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
The person who will fill this role is proficient with reconciliations and is strong analytically.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Performing of daily, weekly and monthly recons of asset accounts, including fixed assets, investments and other financial instruments
- Compare internal asset records with external statements
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly, escalating unresolved issues to the Reconciliation Manager
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of reconciliations and adjustments
- Prepare regular reports for management on reconciliation status, outstanding items and trends
- Ensure all recons adhere to internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Liaise with other department to resolve reconciliation issues
- Utilise reconciliation tools and banking systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications: - Completed Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Experience: - Minimum 2 years experience in reconciliations, reporting or similar roles
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role within a banking or financial services environment
Skill: - Proficiency in reconciliation tools and banking systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to financial regulations and compliance requirements
