Requirements: Proven experience in a senior role or sewing function within a textile manufacturing environment Be highly skilled in a specialist area of textile production (cutting, sewing, finishing) Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills Excellent production planning skills; balancing jobs and resources Fine attention to detail; perform quality assurance Reliable and punctual with reliable transport to and from Fabric Centre in Somerset West 10 year experience in a sewing workshop environment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities Duties will include, but not limited to: Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring production is met efficiently and effectively Manage a team of sewing machinists and cutters, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to optimize productivity and quality Experienced in cutting and sewing able to step in to assist team or advise technically Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards to ensure a safe work environment and consistent product quality Collaborate with other departments (printing, sales consultants, management) to streamline processes and address any production challenges. Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed to minimize downtime Provide stock counts on raw materials and supplies necessary for production, maintaining adequate inventory levels while minimizing waste Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall department performance Provide daily feedback, reporting and complete order/invoice documentation In return, a competitive salary is on offer
