This position requires retail experience, a flair for visual merchandising, and a good head for figures and administration.
The ideal candidate will assist the manager with daily operations of the retail store and complete tasks related to inventory management, sales, invoicing, customer returns, deliveries, showroom management, staff management, marketing, business administrative duties, and customer service. They should be a confident salesperson and able to share best practices to onboard new employees. This candidate should also possess strong leadership skills to assign duties to relevant employees to maintain store function.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the business and ensure key performance goals are met.
- Direct employees in daily operations such as serving customers, inventory taking, reconciling cash, and managing in-store marketing.
- Assign duties to relevant employees.
- Conduct hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Track and manage inventory at the store.
- Drive turnover and profitability to achieve all monthly targets.
- Client Sales (Creating, documenting, and managing quotes, returns, customer inquiries, invoicing, and orders).
- Stock Management (Managing stock holding, orders, and stock losses).
- People management, including staff development, employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Execute in-store merchandising strategy and standards.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by executing our customer service strategy and fulfilling customer demands.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints regarding sales and service promptly and amicably.
- Continuously develop knowledge on competitor activity, pricing, and sales tactics.
- Explore and maintain knowledge on new home designs, trends, styles, and concepts.
- Communicate with customers clearly through all required lines of communication.
- Learn, develop, master, teach, and manage individual and team sales techniques.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales pipeline.
- Learn, communicate, teach, and manage product specifications to customers and the team.
- Optimize daily leads, inquiries, walk-ins, and any other conversions.
- Provide and document detailed sales feedback to and from the team.
- Calculate, document, analyze, process, capture, and file billing quantities, quotes, invoicing, payments, deliveries, and returns.
- Learn, adapt, and excel within the organization's current sales, business, purchasing, finance, marketing, and delivery cycle.
- Maintain superior customer service and interaction daily.
- Work effectively with/without supervision.
- Meet daily and monthly sales targets, with a passion to continuously grow.
- Follow up with quotes, deliveries, and after-sale service.
- Match and mix design concepts for customers.
- Learn accurately and effectively on the job.
- Communicate effectively with all departments within the organization.
- Assist with daily showroom administrative duties.
- Learn and maintain an innovative brand and customer experience.
- Assist brand ambassadors and store manager with miscellaneous duties.
- Develop and manage a clear strategy to help brand ambassadors maintain the above responsibilities as an individual and team.
- Work directly with the store manager, operations manager, and the group as a whole.

Experience Required
- 3 to 5 years retail experience.
- Strong customer service, management, and communication background in a retail environment.
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate.
- Relevant degree advantageous.
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or Psychology is advantageous.
- Certificates within the interior design field advantageous.
