Role Purpose
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be based within our UK Operations Team, you will lead site teams to deliver a number of multi-disciplined projects. This includes the overall supervision and performance of the operational project team to ensure that all activities meet the programme, cost, safety, and quality objectives of the project.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Overview
Demonstrate strong Health and Safety leadership and compliance throughout all activities relating to the projects you are working on.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed standards.
Ensure risks are identified and mitigation measures are put in place.
Ensure the project budget and costs are managed effectively including reimbursements for variations to the contract.
Understand revenue models, P&L and cost to completion projections.
Ensure project programmes are set up and reviewed both internally and with the client continually throughout the project.
Deliver projects in line with business processes in order to provide customers a consistent delivery experience.
Conduct regular reviews of drawings/document control on site, ensuring the correct versions are being used.
Participate in bid activities that support the design team and processes. To ensure that professional, profitable, and successful bids are delivered, meeting customer expectations.
Take full responsibility for all plant and materials hired by the company and ensure these are tracked throughout the project.
Provide leadership for the Project Delivery Team within the area of control; through clear provision of objectives, responsibilities, and accountabilities, managing performance accordingly.
Offer guidance and feedback to maximise the performance of the team.
To directly manage sub-contractors to ensure all elements of the project are delivered on time and against the designs provided.
To develop the designs to include site level co-ordination and details which may develop during construction, feeding this back to the Design Team where necessary.
To work with the Programme Manager and provide an up-to-date status, together with any programme risks and any dependencies which exist.
Work alongside our Operational Team to produce all post project documentation in line with the client’s requirements.
Personal Specification
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry.
Demonstrate experience of Project Management controls, including initiation, change management, risk management, Project plans and the principles and practicalities of running projects.
In depth knowledge of structured an optical cabling system, with at least 5 years hands-on experience.
Ability to work within demanding time constraints.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
Proven experience of Microsoft applications.
Excellent technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
You will need to be articulate, a self-starter, have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and able to demonstrate experience in pragmatically solving problems.
Knowledge required to manage a safe construction site, SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
Valid ECS health & safety card.
Industrial premises experience would be beneficial.
Full driving licence
RCDD/CNIDP Qualification is desirable.
Prince 2/ CTPM Qualification is desirable.
Membership of a professional body.
