Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + excellent benefits
About the Company:
Our client, a fast-growing and award-winning consultancy, is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate within a Civil Engineering design team on drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes
Engage directly with developers, architects, and local authorities
Undertake and manage design work for:
Drainage systems in accordance with Sewers for Adoption, building regulations, and the SuDS Manual
On- and off-site highway features in line with standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets
Draft fee proposals and manage project budgets
Review reports, designs, and drawings prepared by junior team members
Proficient use of AutoCAD and Site 3D (or equivalent 3D software)
Willingness to learn and use other engineering software as required
Attend client meetings and conduct site visits
Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) through administrative activities
Provide mentorship and training to junior staff
Support regional offices and other departments through knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
Preferred: Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or actively working towards accreditation with the Institution of Civil Engineers
A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years’ consultancy experience
Proven experience collaborating with local authorities, developers, and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial, and retirement/care schemes
Demonstrated capability working on schemes from pre-application through to condition discharge within the planning process
Project management experience in civil engineering projects, including drainage, external works, and highways
