Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity to join an internationally renowned rolling stock company on a permanent basis. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining diesel engines for customers across the UK. The role involves attending breakdowns, diagnosing issues, and providing effective solutions through fault finding and diagnostics. The role is field-based, offering the convenience of traveling directly to customer sites from home without needing to report to the office regularly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform modification programs on company products as required.
- Working on diesel Class 73s, HST's and a wide rang of train engines.
- Conduct thorough examination and maintenance of diesel engines.
- Attend customer sites to address issues, providing first-line support and advice.
- Drive to breakdown locations, diagnose faults, and deliver resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to achieve effective solutions.
- Utilize mechanical engineering expertise to expedite claim resolutions.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience working on large vehicles or components, ideally diesel engines on rolling stock.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on diesel engines.
