We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a school in Bishops Stortford on a temporary basis. This role is vital in ensuring that the school provides nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.
Position Overview:
Position: School Catering Assistant
Location: Bishops Stortford, CM23
Type: Temporary, Ongoing role during school term time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Rate: from £12 p/hr plus holiday accrual paid weekly
As a School Catering Assistant, you will contribute to the smooth running of the school’s catering service by preparing and serving meals and maintaining high hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of school meals

Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean, tidy, and compliant with food hygiene regulations

Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment

Help with stock management and basic food preparation tasks

Provide excellent service to staff and students, contributing to a positive dining experience
Requirements:

A valid DBS check is essential for this school-based role - please only apply if you have DBS Enhanced

Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role is preferred but not required
